Lee Wind Paints Antigua
Lee Wind Paints (1980) Limited is wholly owned by Antiguans and is the only paint manufacturing facility which is not a subsidiary of a multinational corporation.
It is also the first paint facility established in the OECS sub-region. At present the market comprises Antigua and Barbuda, Montserrat, St. Kitts, and Nevis, Dominica, St. Lucia, St. Vincent and the Grenadines, Grenada, St. Maarten, Saba and Tortola.
Lee Wind Paint (1980) Limited manufacture interior/exterior decorative household paints in both emulsion (acrylic) and enamel (alkyd) based formulae. Other popular product lines are the undercoats, floor and roof paints, wood preservatives, road marking, weather barrier, varnishes, chalky wall sealer, semi-gloss, flat emulsion paints, enviroseal and our low odor paint. With a staff of nineteen employees, thirteen factory and six administrative, the company has grown to a production level of twenty-five thousand gallons per month with fifty-five percent local consumption and forty-five percent manufactured for exportation. One hundred percent procedure materials come from the U.S.A how do we know that Lee Wind Paints produces a good product? From the laboratory test results and also because of the experience in the field particularly in St. Maarten where there is a competition with paints from Puerto Rico, the Continental United States elsewhere. St. Maarten has no restriction on the importation of goods. To gain market acceptance Lee Wind had to develop a better quality product and trim profit margins to sell at affordable prices.
